Welcome To Your Security Briefing

Welcome everyone. My name is Andy O'Donnell. I am a security engineer and also a writer / Site Guide for The New York Times Company's About.com Network Security Site (netsecurity.about.com). This blog is completely separate from About.com. I'm starting this blog becuase sometimes I just want to talk about security topics that might not be specifically "network related". This gives me a place to do that. I can talk about whatever the heck I want to here. If I feel like delving into a rant about how Reese's cups seem to have gotten smaller over the years I can do that here and no one will get mad.

So anyway, as I said I love the security field and I want to blog about it more, so here we are. I may link over to articles that I write for about.com from time to time if I feel they are relevant. Feel free to comment on my posts whether you like them or hate them. Any and all feedback is welcome. Although please try to keep your comments relatively profanity free.

A little bit about myself, I've been in the security field for about 13 years, I have worked for several Fortune 500 companies and I have a CISSP certification as well as an ISSEP, and some additional alphabet soup certs as well.

Let's get this thing started!
